Why do we feel we are worthy of your
donation?
All of our volunteer staff members have FM, or CMP, CFIDS and overlapping conditions. We
all know what it is to live with chronic pain and fatigue and we want to help others find
much needed help and research.
Our staff members are educated
people involved in health care and advocacy on many levels. We have social workers,
political advocates and fund raisers. We all live with it daily and strive to provide
others with information so that their journey through the health care maze may be easier.
Services Provided by The FMS Community and
the CSSA.
- A Free Newsletter full of medical
facts and daily coping tips.
- Care provider pages, We carry 2
separate provider pages. We offer FibroBetsy's large data base of Care providers
that cater to those with Fibromyalgia and the FMS Community offers a list for Care
Providers that help those with CMP,
CFIDS, TMJ, MCS, Sleep Apnea, Migraine sufferers and more.
- Book Reviews. We try to weed out the
crop of self help publications so you do not waste your money on junk.
- Contests! We take donations of
health related books, CD's and other items that are donated to the organization and give
them away in contests. So people who may not be able to afford to buy these items have
access to much needed information.
- Research. We try to add new research
items that pertain to FM, CMP, CFIDS, GWS, MCS and other conditions often. This allows you
to print off a study or an article on a new medication and take it to your doctor, to see
if they are willing to try it, or for your own research as you plan your health care.
- Children, Teens and Young Adults. We
know there is limited information and support out there for this group of people. We
maintain a page just for children and young adults. Links to support groups and medical
studies to help them get through schooling, band practice, dating and all things young
people deal with daily.
- Artists Loft. We maintain pages for
those with a chronic illness to feature their art. Those who may paint, draw, sew, write
poetry or novels, take photographs. We feature their work and list their links so they may
find some gainful employment and show the world that we can still create, despite the
pain.
- Free or Low Cost Medications. We
know many people do not have a health insurance plan, or if they do, it does not cover
medications. Our site strives to keep a page online with information on getting needed
medications for free or for a lower cost.
- Filing for Disability Benefits. We
keep our ear to the ground and maintain a page to help those who can not work, obtain
their disability benefits. Information on how to file, who to talk to, new laws you need
to know about and more.
- Exercise. We have all been told to
exercise, but how much? What type? We have information from experts on this topic gathered
on one page, to help us learn what we can and can not do and how not to feel guilty over
what we can NOT do.
- Book Store. We have a bookstore of
the tried and true publications. If you are going to buy a book on FM or an overlapping
condition, you can buy it through this site. Every book that is sold via one of our links,
puts funds into the organization.
All funds go to the organization.
None of our volunteers pull a salary or is compensated for their time in any way. We all
do the work for free and the funds go to maintain this website, pay for the server and the
domain name and mail items to people who have won the contests. All donors will be sent a
receipt for tax purposes if requested.
